For me jewelry rhyme with beauty and desire. Like one of my favorite perfumes by Jean Patou called “Divine Folie”, one sees a piece of jewelry and reason disappears; an emotion goes through the veins suddenly. I like to generate these moments, infinite source of pleasure. “When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy”. These words written by a mystic man in the 13th century A.D. reflect what I feel when I create. The joy of feeling that I express my vision of beauty and am able to share it.
I was born in France, in Brittany. I grew up in front of the sea and I believe that the everchanging colors of the waters and the skies awakened and nurtured my sense of beauty. I left my home country very young and lived in several countries.
I always had designed and loved jewelry, but it was in 2000, after I moved to live in the USA, that I started to go after my passion. California was the perfect place for me to learn and get everything I needed to serve my creativity and my prolific inspiration. I learnt numerous techniques, I attended many workshops and some classes at the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in Carlsbad, Ca. Beautiful sunsets on the Pacific, Hollywood close by, native American Indian culture, so many things were triggering my inspiration.
I love to work with colorful precious stones, with pearls and mother-of-pearl. When I go to purchase stones, I let them attract me. I believe that apart from their beautiful appearance and value, they vibrate in harmony with the soul. The stones I purchase reflect my deeper being.
Peoples around the earth, poor or rich, have worn jewelry since the beginning of the times. Jewelry is more than an adornment. A way to wear beauty and wealth small or big on oneself. I like to create a piece of jewelry and imagine that the person who wears it feel beautiful and special.
When I create I often feel like Alice in Wonderland. I go through the mirror. I start with a design in mind, and I end up with a completely different creation. It goes beyond me. I hope that that magical feeling goes from my creations to the person who wears them. My pieces of jewelry always are one-of-a-kind.
